My Story With Urinary Tract Infection

When I was much younger I could really care less about what was going on in my life. I never went to the doctors and I ate very unhealthy and drank very little water. This was a big problem of mine and I ended up paying for it a little while down the line. I am going to share this very long and boring story with you about the first time i developed a uti and bladder infection. Yes I ended up getting both of these and it was an absolute nightmare for me. Lets go ahead and start this story with when it all started and how I found out that I developed a uti.

I was seventeen years old and in college at the time. Currently studying in my dorm room and trying to get this massive paper done. I was pretty stressed out and had little time to eat or even little time to drink water. Turns out that when you do not drink enough water you can have some serious problems. I started getting this very intense burning pain in the bottom of my stomach. The pain was right below my belly button and it was intense. At first maybe I thought that it might be some hunger pains or something like that. Turns out it was something more than a hunger pain. I tried eating a little bit of food and drinking a little bit of juice and it did not help. I had this pain last for about two hours until I decided I should start looking stuff up online. From the reading that I was doing I noticed that there was a pretty good chance that I might have a bladder infection. It said to head to your local doctors office as soon as possible. Although it is not considered an emergency you should try and get help as soon as your doctor is available.

The next day I decided to give my doctor a call and make an appointment. Lucky for me there was an opening for an appointment the next day and I took a day off of work to go get myself checked out. During my doctors visit I got all the standard tests that they give to you when you get in. Blood pressure, check your eyes, blood sugar and blood test. After everything pretty much came back normal I was issued a urine test. When I was urinating into the cup I noticed that the urine was very very dark and cloudy. My doctor even said something about it instantly. He said from the looks of it, it was most likely a uti and bladder infection as well. This is what I thought it was going to be. He said he would call me later that day with the results.

My doctor eventually called me about an hour after I arrived home. He confirmed his suspicion's and told me it was in fact a urinary tract infection and a bladder infection as well. He prescribed me antibiotics and told me to drink lots of cranberry juice and water. I followed his instructions and about two weeks later my uti went away. Lucky for me I got it early and figured everything out soon. If not who knows where I would be and if it would have gotten worse.

That is pretty much all there is to my story. It was the most intense pain I have ever felt and I am glad that I found a way to get rid of it forever!
